Orders are posted out from our London studios within 24 hours of being received. Postal delivery can take up to one week depending on your location in the world.

Generally, the rules for baby passport photos are relaxed slightly by most countries due to the difficulty in getting babies under one year old to look at the camera. However , there is no agreed standard between countries for baby passport photos

UK Baby Passport and Visa Photos
- The passport photo should be a good likeness of the baby
- Babies do not need a neutral expression in passport photos
- The head of the baby does not need to be straight
- The colour of the eyes should be clearly visible in baby passport photos
- The baby does not need to look straight into the camera
For UK Baby Passport Photos under the age of 6 months, the baby does not have to have their eyes open. However there should be no supporting hands should be visible.
The passport photos regulations for children over six are the same for adults with the exception that the head size can be between 21mm and 34mm.
How to Photograph Baby
We normally lay the baby on the floor on top of a small mattress with a suitable coloured sheet (light gray for UK). The baby can also be placed in a baby chair covered with the light gray sheet. The requirements stipulate no visible support. If the parent needs to hold the child we normally advise placing the hands under the baby's clothing. Which ever way you choose to photograph a baby under 6 months for a passport photo there will invariably some type of shadow around the head. This is impossible to eliminate totally even with advanced studio lighting techniques.
DIY Baby Passport Pictures at Home
Flash from the camera will always cause shadows as will artificial lighting. Our best advice is to photograph baby outdoors on a cloudy bright day - very common in the UK. Lay baby on a suitable light gray background and take a picture. If you intend to send the picture to us for printing out, we ask you to photograph baby leaving plenty of room above the head and take a half length picture. When you send this to us for printing we will resize the picture for the correct passport requirements. This technique can be modified to suit the baby passport requirements of any country in the world.
